Several streets in Gallup were flooded Monday afternoon, according to the Flash Flood Warning shared by McKinley County Emergency Alerts. The warning listed Gallup, Church Rock, Red Rock State Park, Allison, Gamerco, Mentmore and Red Rock among the locations expected to experience flash flooding, including Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 13 and 30.
The Gallup Police Department identified the following streets and intersections as completely flooded:
- South First Street and Highway 66
- Ford and Highway 66
- East Aztec and Boardman Drive
- N. 6th and Maloney Ave
- Arnold and West Highway 66
- Greet and First Street
- Valley View and Aztec
- 7th and Maloney
- Burke and East Aztec
Police urged the public to avoid driving in these areas and to exercise extreme caution during the weather event.
