Escaped horse corralled on Santa Fe’s Canyon Road

An escaped horse led police on a chase through Santa Fe this weekend before officers, animal services and a few cowboys corralled the animal on Canyon Road. The horse’s owner then led him back to the Santa Fe Plaza, where he was scheduled to take part in this year’s Santa Fe Fiesta Historical Parade.

The Santa Fe Police Department captured the chase with a drone, which it described as a moment “straight out of the Wild West.” Motorcycle officers and bicycle officers joined the pursuit alongside animal services and cowboys.

The horse was corralled on Canyon Road before being returned to his owner.
