Gas prices in Las Cruces have dipped to $3.75 a gallon, the lowest recorded anywhere in New Mexico. The price, reported Sunday at the Allsup’s at 8951 Mountain Vista Parkway, comes in well below the state average of $4.343 per gallon.
Las Cruces drivers filling up Monday found even more options under $4 a gallon. Sam’s Club on North Telshor Boulevard listed gas at $3.88. Murphy Express on Northrise Drive and Walmart Neighborhood Market on Sonoma Ranch Boulevard each posted $3.91. Love’s Travel Stop on Robert Larson Boulevard was at $3.99.
By comparison, Albuquerque’s cheapest stations were holding above $3.90. A Valero on Rio Rancho Drive in Rio Rancho listed cash prices of $3.92, followed by Chevron on Coors Boulevard and Route 66 Travel Center on Central Avenue at $3.99 each.
Santa Fe prices ran higher still. Speedway on Agua Fria led the city at $4.17. Two stations, Pueblo Latino Gas Station and a Sinclair in Pojoaque, were tied at $4.19.
Across New Mexico, the average price stood at $4.343, compared with a national average of $4.287. California had the highest state average in the country at $5.972. Indiana was lowest at $3.579.
