Google eyes new data center in Lea County

Google is exploring the possibility of building a new data center in Lea County, according to the company’s Global Network News. The company said it aims to serve as a long-term partner with the county if the project moves forward.

Google said it will pay for 100% of the energy the project uses and manage water resources responsibly, according to the Global Network News report.

“We look forward to sharing more as the project progresses,” Google said.

Details about the project remain limited.
