New Mexico Heart Walk set for September 19 in Albuquerque

The annual New Mexico Heart Walk is set for September 19 at Avanyu Plaza at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque. The walk, put on by the American Heart Association of New Mexico, comes as heart disease remains a leading cause of death in the state.

Heart disease accounts for roughly 21% of all deaths in New Mexico, according to the American Heart Association.

“The American Heart Association has been a leading source of health information for more than 100 years,” the organization said, noting it provides resources for people affected by cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The event will feature an artisan market and resources about heart disease.
