Albuquerque seeks volunteers to clean up before Balloon Fiesta

The City of Albuquerque is seeking volunteers to help clean up the city before Balloon Fiesta returns. This year’s fiesta is set for Oct. 3-11 at Balloon Fiesta Park.

The annual Fiesta Fanatics Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The city is looking for help cleaning the park and neighborhoods across the city, according to the report.

The City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful will provide trash bags, litter pickers, gloves and safety vests to volunteers.

Groups organizing neighborhood cleanups will also receive a free pickup for all collected trash.

Volunteers are encouraged to sign up online, though walk-ins are welcome at Balloon Fiesta Park the day of the event.

Those interested in organizing a neighborhood cleanup must sign up online before Sept. 18.
