Albuquerque seeks volunteers to clean up before Balloon Fiesta

The City of Albuquerque is seeking volunteers to help clean the city ahead of this year’s Balloon Fiesta. The annual fiesta is scheduled for Oct. 3-11 at Balloon Fiesta Park.

The city’s Fiesta Fanatics Cleanup will take place Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful will provide trash bags, litter pickers, gloves and safety vests to volunteers.

Groups organizing neighborhood cleanups will also receive a free pickup for collected trash.

Volunteers can sign up online, and walk-ins are welcome at Balloon Fiesta Park the day of the event. Those organizing a neighborhood cleanup must sign up online before Sept. 18.
