Albuquerque drivers face overnight lane closures on Rio Bravo

Drivers on Rio Bravo in Albuquerque will face overnight lane reductions beginning Monday as crews shift traffic for the Rio Bravo Bridge Replacement Project. Both directions between Second Street and Isleta Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Friday, Sept. 18.

The work affects the stretch of Rio Bravo between Second Street and Isleta Boulevard. Officials expect delays for drivers during the overnight hours as the traffic shift gets underway.

The Rio Bravo Bridge Replacement Project is the broader effort driving the lane reductions. The overnight schedule is designed to limit the impact on drivers during daytime travel.
