Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Kyiv had no partner intelligence on missile strike

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Kyiv received no partner intelligence before five Russian ballistic missiles struck local infrastructure. The lack of early warning hindered defenses during the assault on the capital city. Zelenskyy called the attack vile on social media Tuesday.

The Ukrainian president did not blame allies for the missing information. He stated that fast alerts about incoming ballistic missiles directly save civilian lives.

Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 100 weapons starting Monday evening, according to Zelenskyy. The strikes destroyed a residential building in Kharkiv.

Rescue teams worked all night at the site. Four people died in the Kharkiv building, and 41 suffered injuries.

Energy strikes and ceasefire disputes

U.S. President Donald Trump claimed Sunday that both nations agreed to an energy ceasefire. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said contacts on the matter continue.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine did not strike Russian energy sites in the two days after the announcement. He stated Russia continued hitting Ukrainian energy targets.

These are absolutely clear signals that they have no intention of refraining from strikes on Ukraine.

Trump previously blamed Ukrainian refinery strikes for record American diesel prices. He reached a deal Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin to import Russian diesel.

Casualties reported across Ukrainian regions

Attacks caused casualties in several regions overnight Monday and Tuesday. Local officials reported the damage.

  • Kyiv Darnytskyi district: one woman injured in a private home strike
  • Fastiv district: one person killed and two injured
  • Rivne: 14 people injured at an educational site
  • Murovane village: residential building hit near Lviv

Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi confirmed the Murovane drone strike. Rivne administrator Oleksandr Koval reported the school damage.

Fastiv administration head Tymur Tkachenko reported the death in Kyiv region. The strikes damaged civilian structures.

The Russian Defense Ministry said forces launched precision weapons against Ukrainian military targets. The ministry claimed a strike hit a cargo vessel near Mykolaiv.

Russian officials also reported massive drone attacks overnight. Air defenses shot down 604 drones over Russian regions, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 417 drones targeted the capital area. Kaluga Gov. Vladislav Shapsha reported damage to a school and two houses.

Ballistic missiles travel at high speeds along steep trajectories toward ground targets. Early warning networks rely on satellite sensors and radar tracking to notify targeted cities.

Air alerts in Kyiv sound immediately when monitoring systems detect incoming hostile launches.
