Horse leads police on chase through Santa Fe streets

An escaped horse led police on a chase through the streets of Santa Fe this weekend before being corralled on Canyon Road. The Santa Fe Police Department called it a moment straight out of the Wild West.

Motorcycle officers, bicycle officers, animal services and a few cowboys joined the pursuit. Police captured video of the chase with a drone.

The horse was corralled on Canyon Road. His owner was then able to trot him back to the Santa Fe Plaza, where he was due to participate in this year’s Santa Fe Fiesta Historical Parade.
