Albuquerque’s Grant Middle School Park opens new playgrounds

Grant Middle School Park in Albuquerque unveiled new playgrounds and other amenities at a ribbon cutting ceremony, completing a year of planning and renovation. The park’s new look replaces what Albuquerque City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn described as one of the oldest playgrounds in her entire district.

“This was one of the oldest playgrounds in my entire district, so everything you see behind you is new,” Fiebelkorn said. “We started from scratch and put in a whole new child’s playground and we are really proud of the way it came out. It’s going to be fun for kids of almost any age.”

The project added two new playgrounds, a new woodchip surface, shade awnings, a tire swing, new gazebos and picnic tables.
