Albuquerque ranks No. 160 and Las Cruces ranks No. 155 in a WalletHub study of football cities, based on their connection to college football. The study looked at how the cities stack up for fans seeking a football experience, and placed both below the middle of the 249-city field.

Las Cruces posted a College Football rank of No. 136. Albuquerque ranked No. 142 in college football. Each city was compared across 21 metrics, graded on a 100-point scale. Those metrics covered team performance and factors including college football championship wins and the number of hall-of-fame coaches.

Pittsburgh took the top spot with a total score of 62.22, a Pro Football rank of No. 1, and a College Football rank of No. 12. Dallas, Green Bay, Los Angeles, and Boston rounded out the top five.

WalletHub pulled data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Team Marketing Report, ESPN, NCAA, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Sports Reference, Forbes, The Athletic, and Fanalytics, along with each team’s website and social media accounts.
