Albuquerque bans cryptocurrency ATMs to fight scammers (60)
Albuquerque has banned cryptocurrency ATMs in an effort to crack down on financial scammers who direct victims to deposit cash into the machines. City Councilors Stephanie Telles and Tammy Fiebelkorn sponsored the measure, which targets the rising problem of crypto-fraud schemes.
The council’s decision was one of the headlines on this week’s New Mexico Political Pulse, KRQE’s weekly political program hosted by reporter Jessica Barron.
