Storehouse New Mexico food pantry marks Hunger Action Month

Storehouse New Mexico is marking Hunger Action Month by encouraging community members to help fight food insecurity in Central New Mexico. The pantry supports nearly 80,000 people a year, serving clients from infants to seniors.

September is recognized nationwide as a time to raise awareness about hunger. The organization, which describes itself as Central New Mexico’s largest food pantry, is inviting residents to do what they can to address hunger in their communities.

Sandia Area has partnered with Storehouse New Mexico over the years. The Storehouse is open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Ways to help include donating food or hosting a food drive.
