The Rio Blanco Fire burning south of Pagosa Springs has reached 63% containment after burning 1,388 acres in an area south of Eight Mile Mesa. Lightning is believed to have caused the fire, and evacuation and pre-evacuation orders have been lifted.
Boating access to Echo Canyon Reservoir is closed so aircraft can scoop water to drop on the fire.
