Albuquerque Veterans Integration Centers awarded Blue Star Memorial for service
Mary Noskin presented a tribute to military members at the Veterans Integration Centers in Albuquerque on Tuesday. The recognition honors those who have served in the armed forces across the state. The site held a special ceremony for the occasion.
The facility earned the tribute from the New Mexico Garden Club. This marker recognizes places that serve past, current, or future members of the U.S. military.
Noskin serves as director of New Mexico Garden Clubs, District 1. She spoke during the gathering.
“I think sometimes veterans are forgotten. I think all of us can admit to that, and I think it’s a reminder to them that someone’s thinking of them, said Mary Noskin, director of New Mexico Garden Clubs, District 1. “In New Mexico, we have many, many veterans. We have many brave men and women who have served in the armed forces, and it is a tribute to them because they keep us safe.”
The gathering took place in Albuquerque. The marker stands as a public tribute.
Veterans Integration Centers operates as a nonprofit organization. The group assists military members and their families across New Mexico.
The nonprofit provides specific aid programs:
- Housing assistance
- Peer support
- Food and nutrition support
- Case management help
Garden clubs place these historical markers along highways and at community sites. The nationwide program honors service members through dedicated public plaques.
The facility continues its daily service work in Albuquerque. The new marker remains on display at the site.
