Albuquerque judge orders Rashad Jones held in 2024 murder case

A state judge in Albuquerque ordered Rashad Jones, 22, held in custody Monday while he awaits trial in a 2024 deadly shooting. The ruling came from Judge Joseph Montano.

Jones is one of the people accused of shooting up a home near Candelaria and Carlisle. Javon Williams was hit and killed during the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting was part of a feud between rival groups who were retaliating against one another.

Using cell phone data, security camera footage and social media posts, police believe the groups are responsible for at least five different shootings over the course of three weeks in June 2024.

Jones is facing a murder charge.
