UNMH hosts free diabetes awareness fair in Albuquerque

The University of New Mexico Hospital is hosting its third annual Diabetes Awareness Fair on Saturday in Albuquerque. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Westgate Community Center at 10001 De Vargas Rd SW.

Free services will include glucose testing, blood pressure checks, oxygen saturation, body mass index, A1C testing, vision screenings, dental services and immunizations.

Education will be provided about taking medications.

Grocery and gas gift cards will be available while supplies last, according to event organizers.

Children can play soccer with The Somos Unidos Foundation for a chance to win free tickets to a New Mexico United game.

The event is free and open to the public.
