The University of New Mexico Police Department held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday for its new headquarters in Albuquerque, on the corner of Mesa Vista and University. Officials say the new building continues the university’s commitment to making its campus safer.
UNM said the new headquarters is one of several investments the university recently made to improve campus safety.
The department’s original home shared a space with an on-campus dorm since the mid 1990s. Officials say the total cost of the new headquarters is around $17 million.
