Tropical depression could form this week in the Atlantic

A tropical depression could form late this week as a disturbance moves over the subtropical Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center announced. Forecasters put the chance of formation over the next seven days at 40 percent.

A trough of low pressure located east-southeast of Bermuda is producing disorganized thunderstorms and showers, the NHC said.

According to the NHC, environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for development in the next few days.

A tropical depression could form late this week as the system moves slowly west-northwestward.
