A Deming man learned his punishment after he locked a six-year-old girl inside a hot shed, a judge ruled. Bruce Anglin was sentenced to six years in prison for child abuse in Luna County.
Deputies with the Luna County Sheriff’s Office went to a home near Lewis Flats and Pojoaque Road in June 2025. They found the child locked inside a shed with no electricity and no running water.
According to deputies, the child was living in filthy conditions and had bruises. Anglin admitted to locking the child in the shed as punishment.
Anglin pled guilty to six charges, including two counts of child abuse. A judge sentenced him to six years behind bars.
The child’s mother, Samantha Anglin, knew about the shed, deputies said. She pled guilty to one charge of child abuse.
