Albuquerque boxer Kaleb Medina aims to stay undefeated October 3

Albuquerque boxer Kaleb Medina will look to keep his undefeated record intact on October 3, when he steps into the ring on the undercard of a Primetime Promotions card at Expo New Mexico. The event will feature New Mexico boxer Matthew “Diamond Boy” Griego in the main event.

The Las Vegas, New Mexico native is 1-0 as a professional and brings more than 100 amateur fights into the bout. Medina is scheduled to face George Roybal at 140 pounds.

Medina described his own style in a phone interview with KRQE. “I would say I’m super crafty. I would say I have a good IQ,” Medina said. “I think I have a lot of experiences just being around pros, like top pros, and getting in the ring with them.”

Rather than look past Roybal, Medina said he is treating the fight as a serious test. “I’m going to always prepare for the worst. I’m going to always take it as a really, really tough fight, but I’m coming sharp,” Medina said.
