U.S. Marshals have arrested a suspect in a 2023 Albuquerque murder, finding him in Rio Rancho on Monday. Richard Cardona, 44, is accused of working with another man, Chaz Estrada, to kill Travis Zabroski at a storage facility near San Mateo and I-40 last November.
The Marshals took Cardona into custody in Rio Rancho. Cardona also had a federal warrant stemming from a 2016 gun conviction linked to the case.
Cardona was previously arrested during a Black Friday burglary bust. He and another woman were accused of stealing items from vehicles at the Best Buy off Eubank. Police also found a gun on Cardona, even though he was a convicted felon.
