Abandoned Albuquerque home destroyed in Mesilla Street fire

An abandoned, boarded-up single-family home on Mesilla Street in northeast Albuquerque was destroyed in an early-morning fire Tuesday. Damage to the home was extensive throughout the building, according to Albuquerque Fire Rescue.

Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 3:09 a.m. to 400 Mesilla St. NE for reports of a fire. Rescue 5 arrived on scene and reported a working fire with smoke and flames showing on the back of the home that extended into the attic.

The fire was brought under control in ten minutes, AFR said.

The cause was undetermined.
