Raleigh Jackson charged with sexually abusing two children in Farmington

Raleigh Jackson of Farmington faces federal charges for alleged sexual abuse of two minors, prosecutors announced Monday. He faces up to life in prison if he is convicted of the federal charges.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico announced the federal case. Jackson, 34, is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Authorities allege the abuse occurred in Farmington on Sept. 19, 2026. Jackson also engaged in sex acts with the two minor victims on previous occasions, authorities allege.

Jackson is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse. A trial date has not yet been scheduled. He will remain on conditions of release pending trial.

Federal prosecutors handle major felony crimes involving enrolled tribal members on Native American land. Cases move through the United States District Court system. Defendants attend preliminary hearings before trial dates are set.

Jackson faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison if convicted on the Farmington charges.
