Albuquerque Animal Welfare hosts volunteer fair Sept. 26

The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department will host its League of Volunteers Fair on September 26 at the city’s eastside shelter, officials announced. The fair runs from 6 to 8 p.m.

The department is recruiting volunteers to fill a variety of roles at the shelter, according to the announcement.

During the event, guests can tour the shelter, meet and greet with some of the animals, get information on fostering and volunteer opportunities, and sign up to volunteer on site.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older and commit to at least six hours a month. Training is provided, and scheduling is flexible.
