16,000 Fentanyl Pills, 14 Firearms Seized in Stockton Drug Bust, Deputies Say
San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people in Stockton on Thursday after an investigation into a stolen Ford F-350 truck led them to a home in the Weston Ranch neighborhood — and to a seizure that included 16,000 fentanyl pills, other illegal drugs, $288,142 in cash, 14 firearms and roughly 100 pounds of fireworks.
Peter Zile, 60, and Lisa Hall, 47, face multiple felony charges, officials said, including vehicle theft and possession of controlled substances for sale, along with weapons charges that include possession or transportation of a machine gun. Combined bail was set at $1.25 million.
“The amount of drugs, cash, and firearms uncovered during this investigation is alarming and highlights the serious threat these illegal activities pose to our community,” District Attorney Ron Freitas said in a news release. The pair appeared in court in Stockton on Monday and were due back on Wednesday.
Fentanyl seizures counted in the thousands of pills are the cases Albuquerque’s own public safety reporters track most closely, because pill volume is what turns a local arrest into a regional supply story. In Stockton, prosecutors say that is exactly what deputies found.
