Tulsa Voters Get Their Turn to Question District 1 Council Candidates

Tulsa voters in District 1 get a direct line to the people who want to represent them on Monday, when incumbent Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper and challenger Corinice Wilson face questions at a public forum organised by Northside Neighbors.

The gathering runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 36th Street Event Center, and residents can register to attend. Attendees can hear both candidates’ plans and put their own questions to them directly, ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

Council members in Tulsa represent specific districts, pass local ordinances and approve the municipal budget — decisions that shape everything from road repairs to public safety spending in a neighbourhood.

Albuquerque voters know the format well: a neighbourhood group, a room, and candidates who have to answer for their plans in person. Northside Neighbors is urging District 1 residents to make an informed choice on Election Day, and Monday’s forum is the place to start.
