Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton welcome second child in New York
Actors Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton have expanded their family in New York. The English performers now have two children together. Hiddleston confirmed the arrival to GQ in an interview published Monday.
He described birth as the “most beautiful, profound, earth-shattering, life-altering” experience. He did not share the baby’s exact birth date. The interview took place in early December. The birth happened “just the other day,” according to the magazine.
Hiddleston is 44 years old. Ashton is 41. The couple met in 2019 during a revival of the play “Betrayal.” They confirmed their engagement in 2022. They had their first baby later that year.
Hiddleston previously spoke about parenthood in New York earlier this year.
“Becoming a father is the most important and meaningful thing that’s ever happened to me, and the most important thing I will ever do,” Hiddleston told The Associated Press.
Both performers were born in London. Hiddleston plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with the 2011 film “Thor.” He also stars in the Disney+ series “Loki.” Ashton played Dar-Benn in the 2023 film “The Marvels.” She also appeared in “Fresh Meat,” “Not Safe for Work” and “Velvet Buzzsaw.”
Celebrity representatives often handle media inquiries regarding family announcements. Public statements help clarify personal updates for news outlets. Representatives for Hiddleston and Ashton did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
The couple spent recent years working in London and New York.
