Clark’s pet calendar contest opens in Albuquerque with superhero theme

Submissions are open for the 2027 Clark’s Pet Emporium Pet Calendar in Albuquerque, with this year’s theme dedicated to comic superheroes. The pet supply chain is accepting photo entries through the end of September and will follow the submissions with a public voting period in October.

The annual calendar highlights community pets, the store said. Dressing pets in superhero costumes is not required, though entrants who do so “could get some brownie points for them,” according to Clark’s.

Any type of pet can be submitted, from four-legged companions to two-legged pets and farm animals. One submission per pet is allowed, but entrants can send multiple entries for different pets.

Photos should be clear and high quality, the store said.

Submissions are typically local to Albuquerque, though some have come from outside the city. Pet owners elsewhere in New Mexico can also enter.

Voting runs Oct. 1 through Oct. 15 on Clark’s voting site. Submitters are encouraged to vote for other entries as well as their own.

After voting closes, Clark’s will tally the results and design the calendar over the following two weeks. Calendars will be available for free pickup at either Clark’s store location in the first week of December.
