Albuquerque’s National Hispanic Cultural Center opens two new exhibits

The National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum in Albuquerque is opening two new exhibits Friday, including a re-curated permanent collection gallery featuring 52 artworks by 44 artists. The gallery has not been re-curated in six years, according to the museum.

The exhibits include a community gallery show titled “I Thought I Saw You Yesterday,” featuring nine artists who have never been shown at the museum before.

“These events are extremely important, to not only create solidarity amongst the arts community and supporting each other, but also for our center to be able to connect with communities and share our resources,” said Curator Hazel Batrezchavez.

A public reception is scheduled for Sept. 18 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
